Orchids at Croick

Lesser Butterfly Orchid

Lesser Butterfly Orchid

We have taken a significant amount of ground out of production this year, and removed all stock and deer from the ground. It is remarkable how quickly previously suppressed plant life springs up once all grazing is removed.

The photographs here are two interesting orchids which were spotted and photographed by Nigel Richards, who was on the estate on behalf of the British Trust for Ornithology. Thank you Nigel.
