This years four Tamworth piglets arrived safely from Staffordshire the other day, travelling very quietly in the back of my car. They are doing well and growing daily and should be ready to have the freedom of the place, or a few hundred acres anyway, before too long.
Last year’s Tamworths filled the freezer and are making the most delicious eating. But we think we left it a little too long to take them for slaughter, with the result that they had slightly too much fat on them.
I hadn’t previously realised it was possible to have too much fat, but be assured that it is!
