We had another new calf this week, here photographed at about twelve hours old. He was already up and walking (a little unsteadily) and feeing from his mother.
As you can see he had just been tagged; easiest done before they get too frisky. He had also been banded. (It involves a rubber band, the location of which I shall leave to your imagine). A couple of days later he is happily at foot with his mother in the field and will be allowed out to join the other mothers and calves shortly.
Awwwww. So sweet.
